What is a beta reader and why do authors need one?
A beta reader is essential for authors to create the best version of their story. It's like test driving a used car before buying it.

If you buy a car, do you just purchase it off the dealership’s floor or do you take it for a spin to test it out?
I bet few said they’d buy it off the floor, am I right? Otherwise, you may just end up with a lemon.
Well, beta readers are a bit like that test drive, offering authors an opportunity to receive vital feedback and insights to enhance their manuscripts before it’s published. Just like no one wants to buy a lemon, no author wants to write a dud book.
At least, this one doesn't.
That's where Beta readers come in, their on the front line of the writing process and help us identify what's working-or in many cases, what's not. Manuscripts at different stages of completion are provided to them, ranging from early drafts to polished one's ready for professional editors.
It is their job to review the material and offer feedback to the author. Often in the form of a short questionnaire. They have my utmost respect and gratitude as their honest and detailed commentary help me shape the best book possible.
I often do several rounds at different stages so am always looking for keen readers who want to be part of shaping the final outcome.
If this sounds like you, just use the contact form on this website and send me a message.
When I have the next round on offer I'll let you know and you can decide if it's your thing.
